Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED), a National level Organisation under Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India engaged in the Marketing Development of tribal products including tribal craft items. TRIFED aims to improve the livelihoods of the tribal communities by creating markets and business opportunities for them based on their culture, traditional skills whilst ensuring fair and equitable remuneration. It is engaged in the marketing of tribal handicrafts relating to metal craft, pottery, paintings, jewellery, textiles in silks, cottons and woollens as well as cane & bamboo items and food & natural products.
As part of its marketing initiatives, for the above tribal products TRIFED has established a chain of 114 unique showrooms called “TRIBES INDIA” located across India.
